By day, I'm a part-time editor for critically acclaimed author Steven James. By night, I'm an author engrossed in her own world of fiction. And I'm a freelance editor. Who wants to help you get published. Whether you're trying to tackle your book's hook, craft more engaging dialogue, battle POV issues, or figure out why the tension seems to be draining from your manuscript, I offer a range of services to help you pinpoint what your manuscript needs and how to improve it. I also edit nonfiction.
I offer a full range of editorial services, based on what you'd like to target for your manuscript:
Line editing - 2.4 cents per word (your word count multiplied by .024) - This package is the most in-depth, providing feedback on fiction techniques such as your hook (opening), POV errors, pacing, author intrusion/info dumps, dialogue, echoed words, causality, awkward narrative, believability, showing vs. telling, overwriting, effective foreshadowing, word choice, etc.
Proofreading - 1.7 cents per word (your word count multiplied by .017) - I will go through your manuscript looking only for grammar, punctuation errors, word usage, verb tense, sentence structure, idioms, and formatting.
"Big picture" advice ($150 total) - I'll look at the first twenty-five pages of your manuscript (Word document, Times New Roman, 12pt font, and double-spaced) and give you an honest evaluation of whether or not your manuscript is "on the right track." I'll provide detailed feedback on areas of improvement and an action plan to make your story thrum.
